School-Community Assemblies & Events

A variety of school-community assemblies and events planned throughout the year offer St. Ambrose students the opportunity to share their talents and showcase their learning. Signature events include:

Hispanic Heritage Assembly: Each class prepares a performance or presentation in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month for this special event, held biennially. Students sing, dance, recite poetry, and share their knowledge of Hispanic countries, cultures, and traditions with friends and family at a schoolwide assembly. In recent years, the event has culminated with a special presentation by a Nicaraguan folklore dance group from the community.

All Saints' Day Parade: Students have fun and learn by dressing up as their favorite saints. This annual parade takes place in the school parking lot as part of the school's celebration of All Saints' Day (Nov. 1). Families are invited cheer on their students. 

Christmas Pageant: Held each December, this annual event features vocal performances by each class as well as audience singalongs. The school’s choir prepares special songs for the pageant and our 8^th grade students celebrate the season through Nativity tableaus. 

Black History Month Assembly: Held biennially, this assembly honors famous African Americans and the many accomplishments, achievements, and contributions of the Black community. Each class develops its own presentation to share as students and families come together to celebrate and learn as a school community.

Art School Takeover: This spring event, held biennially, celebrates the artistic achievements of our students. Individual and collaborative projects will be displayed throughout the school hallways. Students are invited to bring their families to school to view the display, which includes work from every St. Ambrose student.

Grandparent's Day: This fun-filled annual event, typically held in May, is designed especially for the grandparents of our students. The day includes breakfast and a reception and provides grandparents a chance to see firsthand the incredible things happening at St. Ambrose. 

Spring Concert: Held in May, the spring concert provides students in our band and choir programs a chance to shine.
