Thank you to those of you who participated in the mini-series of surveys conducted by the Parish Pastoral Council. I’ll be sharing the results of that survey in the next couple weeks. Through surveys and many other methods (especially prayer), we ask God and one another for direction on the future of our parish. While fully adhering to the faith professed by the Catholic Church, I believe God gives us great freedom to dream about new ways we can experience God in the context of a parish community. We are striving to build communication and collaboration among all the people and parish groups to fuel the imagination through which God leads us to salvation.
When you think of all that happens in the parish you might ask, “What’s the overall plan?” The plan is to be a community where everyone is welcome to experience the living God. As we experience God, we want to invite new people to experience God through participation in the parish. Now is the time to think about opening our doors to others. The first step in inviting others to our spiritual home is to pray for our loved ones who are no longer practicing the faith. This Lent we will collect the names of your friends and family members who no longer practice their faith and place them at our altar between Ash Wednesday (February 13) and Easter (March 31). During Lent, we will be praying about how God wants us to invite others to our parish. This is such a great place to be, so let’s share what we have with others.
