Saint Ambrose Parish will host a celebration of the Eucharist and reception for the community of women religious who are members of our parish. Please come to the 4:30 Mass on Saturday, 17 November and plan to stay afterwards for a wine and cheese reception honoring the Daughters of Charity who live in Bladensburg (please see their names below). Most of the Sisters minister at Elizabeth Ann Seton High School while others are dedicated to ministry at Providence Hospital and Saint Ann's Infant and Maternity Home. The Daughters of Charity, beginning with their founder, Elizabeth Ann Seton, have been instrumental in establishing Catholic education and healthcare in the United States. We are blessed to have a stained glass window of Elizabeth Ann Seton to remind us of the wonderful ministry she started which continues in our midst. I hope our celebration will be an opportunity for all parishioners to get to know them and their ministry more fully.
Here at Saint Ambrose we are going to recognize, celebrate and thank the religious sisters in our midst. They have given us so much, it’s the very least we can do in return.
