Every year I find myself asking the same question; namely, what happened to those "lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer" that Nat King Cole sang of in his hit song? Summer always goes way too fast. There are few lazy days here in the parish because summer is the time to finalize the details of the many events coming up in the fall, winter, and spring. Please pay close attention to the bulletin in the next several weeks to learn about all the upcoming parish activities. Our new website is a huge help in that regard as well.
As we look forward to the fall season, I hope you take some time to plan how you will be involved in the life of Saint Ambrose Parish. Sunday Eucharist is our primary connection to one another, but if you are not already involved in a ministry of the parish, I want you to consider doing so.Consider what talents you have that you could use to make our community a better place. I encourage you to budget your time and financial commitment to the parish to ensure that you are providing for the needs of our faith community. Our resources are limited, and the way we use them reinforces the values by which we seek to live our lives.
There are so many wonderful things happening in this parish because of the incredibly generous people of our community who give their time, talent and treasure. If you want to be one of them, start now by visiting the Ministry Fair after Mass. I hope you enjoyed the "lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer," and I hope you'll take a few minutes to consider how you can be an active part of something great.
