Third graders learned about Andy Warhol who began his art career drawing shoe advertisements. He created his own technique that he called the blotted line drawing. First he drew the shoe, then he traced over his lines with ink, a little at a time, blotting each segment onto another paper. He liked the uneven printed line that he made. He painted his shoes with watercolor. Third graders designed a shoe and used his technique to render their creations.
