Renaissance Profiles

During the Renaissance it was popular for wealthy patrons to have their portraits painted. The re-emergence of Roman coins with profiles inscribed on them inspired an interest in profile portraits. After learning a little about Renaissance fashion 6th graders drew their own profiles from photos, dressing and painting themselves in full Renaissance regalia.
