Band: Students in grades 4 through 8 may join the school band. Instruments include flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone. Both beginner and advanced musicians are welcome. Band class is held during the school day. The purpose of the program is to broaden students’ experience in and understanding of music.
Choir: Choir is an extension of the school’s music program and participation is available to students in grades 2 through 8. The choir rehearses weekly outside of class time. Students sing at St. Ambrose parish masses once a month and prepare material throughout the year for other performances, including the Christmas Pageant and Spring Concert.
Safety Patrol: This program provides the opportunity for leadership and responsibility to students in grades 7 and 8. Patrols will assist in monitoring the parking lot procedures and safe entrance and departure of our students. Our patrols endeavor to make our school the safest and most secure it can be, particularly during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal.
Student Council: This organization offers students the opportunity to plan, design, and implement a variety of activities and special programs for the student body. Council meetings are held once a month after school; special committee meetings are held as needed. Executive board members and homeroom representatives also participate in discussions regarding school policies and student programs. Students in grade 7 are elected each spring to serve as the executive board for the following school year. Homeroom representatives are elected at the start of the school year. Two staff members act as co-moderators.
